SEO helps search engines understand a website and customers find useful information. Start with these seven steps and connect your measurements to real business enquiries.

1. Complete your Google Business Profile

If your business meets Google's eligibility rules, add an accurate name, category, opening hours and contact details. Read our Business Profile guide for eligibility and verification.

2. Explain each service clearly

Answer the customer's questions: what is included, who the service is for and how to get started. Use examples from your work and avoid publishing nearly identical pages just to target different cities.

3. Write distinct titles and descriptions

The title should explain what a visitor will find. The description should summarise the page naturally. A car-rental page, for example, can identify the location and explain how booking works.

4. Check the mobile experience

Read the copy, open the menu and try the form on a phone. Check website performance too. A page found through search also needs to be easy to use.

5. Use your customers' language

Start with questions you receive in calls and messages. “How much does a website cost?” is a concrete topic. Repeating the same keyword in every paragraph does not make the explanation more useful.

6. Connect related information

Link articles to the relevant service, work examples and contact details. Use clear link text that explains the destination, such as our SEO services.

7. Measure results

Google Search Console can help you monitor queries, clicks and indexing. Compare meaningful periods and connect the data to actual customer enquiries. There is no ranking timetable that applies to every business.
